Garden Birds

This is a little linocut print project I’ve set for 2022. I like to set a theme for a project and for 2022 I want to learn linocut printmaking. It’s a printmaking medium open to anyone as the set up is fairly low cost, lino, some tools and ink. And as I print from my home studio I use Caligo safe wash inks for both intaglio and linoprint. The project I’ve set for the year is to record the many birds that visit my South London garden. I’ve started with the lovely blackbird. There has been a very busy pair of blackbirds this early Spring and I suspect their nest is hidden nearby.

I will be selling prints from the series soon but this is an early pull, needs some fine adjustments before editioning.
